Question by Shannon: Has anyone tried any type of detox diet?
I have been reading about detox diets and wondering if anyone has tried them and what the result has been? I thought this would be a good way to jump start my diet.
I have heard of the vegetable detox and lemon detox..is there any others that you’ve heard of??
Answer by Misses D Detox “diets” are bad for you, going organic/raw/vegan for a few weeks to lose some weight, flushing all those toxins out of your system, and then putting them all right back in is bad for you. However, if you’re going raw/vegan as a LIFESTYLE change, you’ll automatically detox yourself that first couple of weeks. You might feel crummy, you might feel better than ever. Point is, after that first month, if you stick to your vegan/raw diet like, forever, you’ll feel a MILLION times better and just fresher. Also your body odor will smell good and you’ll have less yeast, which basically means your vagina will smell good, too.
It has to be a lifestyle thing though. Like I said, diets don’t work.
Read “Skinny Biitch” by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin, and “Eating in the Raw” by Carol Alt. They’re short, easy reads, very entertaining and funny. I reallllllly recommend them!
Question by blue: Do you know of any good detox diets. Like a seven day one?
I don’t wanna have to buy some strange drink or any thing like that. I have heard of a lemon detox diet. I am not sure what it consists of. If you have a good one I would like to know about it.
Answer by Joe B pineapple, grapefruit and celery. this is all you eat for 4 days. plus you drink all the green tea you want. no sugar though.

Question by : are all these ‘detox diet’ scams?
i want to do a detox diet,
not so much for the weight lose, but just to get all the bad and that out of my body.
ive heard of the lemon detox diet,
the acai berry detox diet.
are they any good ?
does anybody have experience from them?
are there others that are better?
remember i dont care about losing weight,
just the detox.
Answer by Quietscherin Detoxing is a scam. You can eat a healthy balanced diet for a period of time and still be medically just as detoxed. Your Liver gets rid of any toxins in your body as long as you don’t over work it (like eating extremely unhealthy). The body is also not made to detox, it isn’t healthy just eating a one sided diet, many important vitamins and minerals can only be found in things that are “bad” for you like red meat. As with everything else in life excess is bad and moderation is good. If you Detox yourself you may subjectively feel better because everything tells you you are doing good for your body but objectively not much about your body will change (possible weight lose is due to not eating as many calories).
Question by Diya: This is a hypothetical question — LEMON DETOX?
If a person gets on lemon detox diet for 2 weeks how much weight loss is guaranteed ???? …… This is for research on lemon detox…. THANK YOU =]
Answer by Angela there is no guarantee. it depends on your body, metabolism, etc
just an aside…the lemon detox diet is a horrible idea, especially to be on it for 2 weeks.
Question by FreeCheese: *Sigh* Oh, Beyonce… Why do people think the “lemon cleanse”/”detox diet”/whatever will hepl them?
There is absolutely NO scientific evidence backing this “diet” causing weight loss OR any type of cleansing and almost all of the weight people lose on it is soon regained. Is it because people lose so much water weight they get excited? Because of the promise of the “quick fix” everyone seems to think is possible? Is it because of all the scam ads going around trying to profit on people’s (unrealistic) hope for the instant gratification of weight loss? REAL studies have shown that the only active effect on people this diet gives is the PLACEBO EFFECT along with loss of muscle and water weight. The percentage of weight that is muscle lost on this diet is ridiculous. It seems to the single most asked about diet on here, sadly. I hope this doesn’t have to do with the spam bots on this board who will randomly answer any question (even about weight gain, lol) with, “Try the detox!” Please do heavy research from multiple sources before considering this diet, and look at both points of view.
Answer by justwondering Ah yes! The “Beam me up Scottie” mentality. I will magically appear on board the mother ship in a new a slimmer body where I will grab an after dinner pizza and a little desert.
